2018 Call for Submissions

ICFF is now accepting applications for the 7th Annual ICFF Short Film contest. We welcome new videos for the SHORT section (Italian or Italian content short films) from around the world. The submission deadline is March 31, 2018.

Monthly Screenings

ICFF in partnership with L’Altra Italia organizes monthly film screenings in Toronto (TIFF Bell Lightbox), Vaughan (Cineplex Cinemas) and Hamilton (HWT Centre). All films are in Italian with English subtitles.


Being a member means you are able to attend all the cultural, culinary and social events including free admission to all L’Altra Italia film screenings throughout the year.

    The ICFF is ecstatic to see the Italian flair woven into the 2017 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, running from September 7th - September 17th in various theatres throughout our fabulous city.
  • Cinema Sotto le Stelle -
    October 10, 2017
    Join us for an evening under the stars with the feature film In Guerre per Amore (At War for Love). This event will take place August 27, 2018 at IC Savings, 5300 Dundas St. West. Refreshments start at 8pm with the movie to follow.
  • ICFF films winning awards across Italy -
    October 9, 2017
    We're so proud and excited to watch so many of the films screened at #ICFF2017 win major prizes in this busy award season in Italy. Films with the most nominations and awards include Edoardo De Angelis's Indivisibili (Indivisible) and Paolo Virzì's La Pazza Gioia (Like Crazy), but almost all of the films in our 2017 program were recognized in one way or another.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award – Christian De Sica - Christian De Sica.
    The winner of the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award is Christian de Sica, the Italian comedy king and showman, adored by his longstanding fans of all generations. Starring in 107 films, De Sica is an actor of many talents with an effervescent presence on set, stage and in person.
  • Special Achievement Award - Paola Cortellesi.
    Special Achievement Award for Qualcosa di Nuovo and Mamma o Papà.

    As wonderful as on screen, Cortellesi graciously and emotionally accepted this award, quite moved by her Canadian support at TIFF Bell Lightbox during the opening screening of Something New.
  • Trilogy Award - Danny Aiello, Giancarlo Giannini, Franco Nero for The Neighborhood directed by Frank D’Angelo.
    The Trilogy Award goes to three special cineasts that uniquely connect Italy, Hollywood and Canadian cinema.
